The Komoka Kings are pleased to announce the additions of Rich Brown and Bob White to the coaching staff for the upcoming season. Brown joins as an associate coach, while White comes on board as an assistant coach.
Rich Brown brings a wealth of experience at nearly every level of the game. He began in Jr. B, before advancing to the OHL, working as an Assistant Coach with the Niagara Falls Thunder in 1992–1993). In 1994, Brown joined the Sarnia Sting, where he held multiple roles—including Head Coach, Associate Coach, and Associate General Manager—across two stints (1994–1996 and 1999–2001).
He also spent time in the pro ranks. First, three seasons as an Assistant Coach with the AHL’s St. John’s Maple Leafs (Toronto Maple Leafs affiliate) from 1996 to 1999. Then, he served as an amateur scout with the NHL’s New York Rangers for two decades. On the international stage, Brown contributed to Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence, winning gold as an Assistant Coach with Team Ontario at the 1995 World U17 Championship, and again with Canada’s National U18 Team at the 2000 Slovakia Cup.
In recent years, Brown has shifted his focus to grassroots development. He was an Assistant Coach with the London Junior Knights U18 AAA team that captured the Alliance Championship in 2015–2016. In 2021–2022, he joined the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks U18 program, and the following season reunited with Kings Head Coach Johnny Warren as Associate Coach with the U15 team. Brown has remained alongside Warren in successive seasons, helping guide both U15 and U16 squads, and also served as Associate Coach—and later Interim Head Coach—of the Western Mustangs women’s hockey team in 2023–2024.
Bob White also brings nearly two decades of coaching experience and a strong track record of success. He began as a goalie coach, later transitioning to the Assistant Coach with the London Junior Knights, where he coached a young Johnny Warren. During this time, White was part of several Alliance Championship Winning teams.
White then moved over to the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks organization, where he has coached for the past eight seasons. For the last six, White has been behind the bench with Head Coach Johnny Warren, winning two Alliance championships in that span.
Head Coach Johnny Warren shared his excitement about reuniting with both coaches: “I’m excited to have Rich and Bob join our staff in Komoka. Having coached with them for several years, I know how well we complement each other’s strengths and how much they’ll bring to our group. There’s a strong level of trust and familiarity between us, which will serve our players well.”
Kings President and GM Roop Chanderdat echoed that enthusiasm, stating: “Rich and Bob bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to help our players grow on and off the ice. They have had an impressive run of success with Johnny, and we look forward to seeing their continued progress and impact as a coaching staff.”
With decades of combined experience, a proven commitment to player development, and strong ties to the local hockey community, Rich Brown and Bob White will be invaluable additions to the Komoka Kings coaching staff this season.
