The Komoka Kings are pleased to announce the hiring of Rodney Hynes to serve as an assistant coach for the club’s 2024-2025 coaching staff.
Rodney comes with a wealth of coaching experience, most recently as the head coach of the Lucan
Irish 6 Jr C program from the 2021-22 season through the early stages of the 2023-24 campaign.
Prior to that, Hynes’ extensive coaching resume features time spent in both hockey and soccer, with a
lengthy tenure of coaching within the London Junior Knights organization as a head coach over that
time with various teams, including their Minor Midget AAA program. Rodney has also been a skills
development coach for the past 6 years.
The Kings are very pleased to have Rodney join Head Coach Rumun Ndur’s staff, with President and
GM Roop Chanderdat stating: “Rodney is another good addition to our Coaching Staff. He has lots of
experience with development and coaching young players and his skill set meshes well with our
program and staff”.
Hynes is energized and excited for the opportunity offered to him with the Kings “I’m just thrilled to
be associated with an organization like the Komoka Kings Junior Hockey Club and am truly committed
to assisting and contributing to the team’s success wherever I can, both on and off the ice. This
opportunity to join the Kings will allow me to share my love, experience and knowledge of the game
that can promote teamwork, positive culture and strong individual character.”
Rodney joins Kings Head Coach Rumun Ndur, Assistant Coach Brian McAllister, and Goalie Coach T.J.
Robertson on the coaching staff. The Kings look forward to a strong 2024-2025 season, which will get
rolling on September 14th at 7:15pm, at the Komoka Wellness Centre versus the Stratford Warriors.
