(KOMOKA, ONT) — Komoka Kings President and GM Roop Chanderdat has announced that Inch Rahaman has been named to the Kings coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Inch is a professor at Fanshawe and Conestoga Colleges. He spent his time in minor hockey in London, where he lives now, and worked as an official for twenty years.
Rahaman has a wealth of coaching experience to go along with his own time playing and officiating the game, having worked for many years with the London Junior Knights organization. Inch has coached with Kings Head Coach Adam Casey for many years, dating back to coaching the Junior Knights AAA U16 team in 2005, and he considers Casey a mentor.
Casey went on to say: “I’ve known Inch for a long time and he’s excited for this opportunity. He will be a great addition to the Kings organization.”
Kings President and GM Roop Chanderdat, is equally excited to have Inch join the staff, saying: “Inch’s familiarity with Adam and strong work ethic makes him a good addition to our Coaching Staff”. We are looking forward to having Inch join our Komoka Kings family.”
Inch lives in London, ON, with his wife Lisa, sons Micah (14) and Mateo (13) as well as his daughter Jameele (10). He serves as head coach with the London Devilettes, coaching his daughter’s team.
A firm believer of putting everything you have into what you do, Rahaman is looking forward to joining the bench staff this season: “I feel very fortunate to have an opportunity like this to join the organization. We’ve got a great team with a top notch staff, and I want to help the coaching staff make a positive impact on this group of guys and the Kings’ season.” Inch is well known around London hockey circles for his passion for coaching and dedication to minor hockey.
Inch joins Kings Head Coach Adam Casey, Assistant Coach Doug Gardner and Goalie Coach Dave MacDonald on the coaching staff.
