Kings Win Home Opener 5-0

Kobe Ferreira, a Strathroy native, opened the scoring at 10:40 of the first period – his second of the season, with assists by Luc Arsenault and Toby Rizzo.  Kings lead 1-0 after one.

Kings made it 2-0 at 1:31 of the second period on a power play marker by Dario Beljo, his second of the season, assisted by Christian Kyrou and Jacob Rochford.  Matthew Gouch made it a 3-0 game with his first of the season at 19:05,  assist going to Blake McConnell-Barker and Jacob Rochford.

Kings add 2 goals in the third, Dario Beljo with his second of the game and third of the season, short handed and unassisted for a 4-0 lead.  And Luc Arsenault finished the scoring also with his 3rd of the season with assist by Tobu Rizzo and Griffin St.Onge for a 5-0 shutout win for the Kings.

Nathan Young played another strong game in net to get his second win and first shutout of the season, stopping all 27 Rocket shots.  Kings outshot the Rockets 40-27 and were were 1-for-4 on the power play.

The Precision Fitness & Performance Centre PFPC 3 Stars of the game were Dario Beljo as 1st Star, Nathan Young as 2nd Star, and Luc Arsenault as 3rd Star.

 

Kings next face the LaSalle Vipers on Sunday, September 15 at the Komoka Wellness Centre – 7:15 pm puck drop.
