A week ago, the Komoka Kings put pen to paper with six players who will be returning to the organization next season. Four of these players were forwards, one defenceman and a goaltender.
The first two returning forwards are captain Blake McConnell-Barker and Will German. Blake, last season, played his first as captain and his second overall in Komoka. McConnell-Barker missed several games last season, but still managed to finish with double digit goals and assists, finishing sixth on the team in points with a 10-18-28 line. Will German is returning for his second season in Komoka. The 2003-born forward and draft pick of the Hamilton Bulldogs in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, German posted three goals and four assists for seven points in his first season at the Jr. B level. Will was selected to play in the GOJHL Future Stars game last season.
Luc Arsenault and Will Lewis will also be returning to the team next season. In 48 games last year, Arsenault posted 51 points, good for third on the team. Luc is entering his third full season at the Jr. B level with the Kings. Also signed last Monday was Will Lewis. Lewis has the ability to play both on the back end and up front, and that skill was utilized last season. Will posted a 5-13-18 line, playing in 46 games.
The Kings also inked Jacob Howard for his fourth season in Komoka, third full. Always a steady, reliable and physical presence on defence, Howard posted two goals and four assists for eight points last season, playing in 44 games.
The final player re-signed by the Kings was Rahul Bola. The 2000-born goaltender came over in a trade with the Cochrane Crunch on December 1st 2019. Bola posted solid numbers while in the crease with the Kings, as he posted a 7-8-0-1 line, with a 3.97 GAA.
These returning players bring offseason totals to eight forwards, four defencemen and two goalies that have been officially signed for next season.
