Kings Add Matt Bowes as Assistant Coach

The Komoka Kings are pleased to announce the hiring of Matt Bowes as an assistant coach.

Matt has a wealth of experience, both on the ice and behind the bench, including playing five years of junior hockey in the NOJHL and the CCHL, finishing up his time in junior with the North Bay Skyhawks, a Tier II Jr. A team.

Over the past seven seasons, Bowes has been coaching with the St. Thomas Stars minor hockey organization. His tenure with the Stars was a very successful one, as he amassed three International Silver Stick championships. He has spent the last two seasons coaching the U16 AA squad.

Matt is looking forward to joining the Kings, saying: “I am extremely excited for the opportunity to be part of the Kings organization.  This team has a great young core with a lot of potential and I can’t wait to get started”.

Komoka Kings President and GM, Roop Chanderdat, echoed the excitement to have Matt on the staff of new Head Coach Rumun Ndur, as he went on to say: “Matt is hardworking and driven which are great qualities to have as an assistant coach.  He is a team guy and will work well under Rumun.”

The Kings look forward to a return to form in the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
